HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR QUANTITY DISCOUNT,
DISCOUNT PERCENTAGE, AND TOTAL PRICE
When using Quick Quote, HouseWerks' automated price quote calculator, all of the work is done for you, including: calculating the discount, subtracting the discount from the subtotal, and quoting a total price.
If for some reason you want to understand how to determine the discount and the discount percentage, the calculation equations are presented below:
1. QUANTITY DISCOUNT
To calculate the quantity discount that will be used to determine the total price of your order, use the equation that follows:
Quantity Discount = (Subtotal Price)(0.00003)
For example, if the subtotal price of your order is $3,500.00, the discount is calculated by:
(3,500)(0.00003) = 0.105 = 10.5%
2. TOTAL PRICE
To calculate the total price of your shelving unit including the quantity discount, use the following equation:
Total Price = [(1 - (Subtotal Price)(0.00003)] [Subtotal Price]
For example, if the subtotal price of your order is $3,500.00, as in the example used above, the total price, including the discount, would be calculated using the following equation:
Total Price = [1 - (3,500)(0.00003)][3,500]
Total Price = [1 - 0.105][3,500]
Total Price = [0.895][3,500]
Total Price = $3,132.50
