COLORED LACQUER FINISHES
HouseWerks currently offers two colored lacquer finishes that can selected for any of the three styles of shelving. These finishes are opaque. The color of the wood doesn't show, but the grain of the wood is visible through the finish. In some woods, like red oak and white oak, the grain is quite pronounced.
For shelves, most customers order Paint-Grade Shelving if a Colored Lacquer Finish is to be ordered.
For vertical supports there is only one grade of lumber used. The most frequently requested hardwood for vertical supports is Poplar, because of its lower price.
However, poplar is the softest hardwood we offer.
