SHELF DEPTH RESTRICTIONS
HouseWerks' shelves are subject to the following restrictions:
- Shelves can be ordered
with a depth ranging from 3" to 33".
- Shelf depth is priced in whole inches
, beginning at 3.0". If a shelf depth is requested between whole inch values, for example, 12.25", the depth is rounded up to the next whole inch. In this example the shelf depth is charged at the rate for shelves that are 13.0" deep.
- Shelves deeper than 12"
require a 45% non-refundable materials deposit to place an order.
- Shelves that have a depth of 15" or less
will be shipped intact as a single shelf.
- Shelves
with a depth greater than 15", will be shipped as two or more shelf sections. The cut line will be parallel to the back and front edges of the shelf. The shelf will consist of a front section and back section, which need to be joined together before installation using carpenter’s glue and wood biscuits, which will be provided by HouseWerks.

If an order is placed for six shelves that are to be 72" in length and 18" deep, Housewerks will build and ship 12 shelf sections. Six shelf sections will be 11" deep and 72" long and six shelf sections will be 7" deep and 72" long).
Each shelf will consist of:
- Front section with a veneered surface, sides without veneer, and a top surface 11" deep
and
- Back section with no front surface, two sides without veneer, a top surface 7" deep with veneer, and a back surface without veneer

Back and sides of the shelves are used for anchoring the shelves to the walls.
Back of the front section is joined to the front of the back section.
Shelf sections are joined by glued biscuit joints.
